Then place the "Ever-Ash2.ufo" file into your root Total Annihilation directory which is c:\cavedog\totala\ in a default installation. Look for the map entitled "Ever-Ash2". Requires Core Contingency, and TAMECHeavy.hpi version 11.0 or higher. Also recommend you upgrade TA to the latest patch (probably not needed). ================================================================================ ** GAME PLAY ** * Multi-Player This is a mid sized map. Up to 4 can play. However, 2 players seems optimal. If more than 2 players are playing, it is best to organize into teams. Teams are then best organized as players 1 and 4 -vs- players 2 and 3. I believe that start positions are determined by the ordering shown on the host PC. * Single Player (Skirmish Only) The Evergreen AI developed by CAP (furnished in TAMEC.HPI) is utilized by this map. As far as I can tell it is not too much of a fight. It is best to have 2 active and allied AI's, with the difficulty set to hard. If you're willing, install a 3rd Party AI. This should greatly enhance the overall experience of playing any TA map. I recommend using Switeck's Counter Strike AI (Version 2 or later), this one is generally tough to beat. * Resource Accumulation (Non-Standard Items) Wind Generator 0 to 30 /tick Extraction From Ground 0 /tick * Reclaimable Features A large variety of trees and rocks are available for reclamation. Some of the rocks have been blended into the terrain, so you might have to look a little hard to find some of them. ================================================================================ ** KNOWN BUGS ** Mostly height map problems. Because of the odd blend of two unrelated tile sets, some compromises had to be made in one. So in some areas the height maps are a bit off (mostly the lava areas). ** FIXED IN VERSION 2 ** Did not ever see a problem w/ the AI commander getting stuck trying to climb a cliff. But I did see a cluster of AI con. units get stuck, so I changed the terrain so the con. units could reach the metal deposite. Fixed the unbuildable metal deposite on the central island. ================================================================================ ** CONSTRUCTION DETAILS ** * Summary Map Name: Ever-Ash Game: TA - Core Contingency Completion Date: 4/19/00 Map Version: 1.0 Map Size: 8 x 16 File Name: Ever-Ash.ufo Author: Mecha-Godzilla "MechaGdzl" or just "MG" E-Mail: dalea@bsquare.com Description: Basic skirmish style.
