----> Four Forts <---- Well Hello there and welcome to the Four Forts. These map tiles are an addition to the greenhaven tileset. Size: 19 x 19 Ram required: 32 Megs Number of players: 2 to 4, or up to four teams of two players each. Uncompressed size: 4,544kb Compressed size: 1.66mb What this map features; 1. Four stone fortresses located in the four corners of the map. 2. The fort walls are tall enough to protect those structures you place inside from most types of fire, bertha, direct fire (lasers, missiles). 3. Limited metal in the area of your fortress, a single additional metal rich area exits halfway between each fort. 4. This map has reasonable speed on 32 Meg machines at more then 300 units. 5. You can use the tiles that make up the forts seamlessly in any map using the Greenhaven tiles. 6. Oh and beware of the forests, they can hide your enemy in large numbers, so burnem out if you feel the need. (Remember massive forest fires may cause lag in game with large numbers of units in play) Installation: 1) Make a subdirectory: \maps. For example, if Total Annihilation is in C:\cavedog\totala, then make a subdirectory, c:\cavedog\totala\maps 2) Uncompress the zip using Winzip or another util, and when prompted for a destination directory, extract all files to "c:\cavedog\totala\maps", or whatever path you created in step one might have been. 3) Bingo done! 4) Now go play. Notes on the Past.. & Future... This is just the beginning, future worlds to come. Hope you like it, have fun, and remember Smokey the bear hates forest fires!!! ;> RawDeal RawDeal@ten.net BTW...
