Anti Rushya Disguise Author Name: Kewlgrandpa ( Ralph Hamp ) Email: kewlgrandpa@t-three.com Map Name: Anti Rushya Disguise Map Type: Metal - Water Map Size: 28 x 28 Number of Players: 2 to 8 Ram Required: 64 MB Uncompressed Size: 5.22 MB Compressed Size: 5.22 MB Tools Used: Annihilator 1.5; Paint Shop Pro 3.12 After about a year and a half, I decided to come back to Total Annihilation. Some friends got me started on Quake II gaming online, and I was quickly hooked. ( Shame on me!!) It was convenient to be able to find a server using Gamespy, and then just jump right into the middle of the action. It also didn't hurt anyone if I decided to leave while a deathmatch was in progress. My name for Quake II play is "Deranged". I needed a more intimidating name for that game. (It didn't help) Being a former Red Alert Player, I was looking forward to Tiberian Sun and purchased one of the first copies when it was released. I was very disappointed in this game, especially after the two year wait while it was in development. I returned to TA as I believe it is has better game play, and have advised anyone interested in TS to check it out first, and also to purchase TA for $9.96 instead. I wanted to do something different with map design this time, so I have built this map on the premise that Core leadership has attempted to disguise a Metal World as a Green World. Anti Rushya Disguise is basically a Metal Map, with grass and water from Green World. The tiles were redone in an old version of Paint Shop Pro, ( 3.12 ) but it seemed to work okay. Grass would not likely grow well on a Metal Planet, so I have intentionally made it look like there are patches of metal showing through the grass. Importing trees from a foreign planet are even less sucessful. Due to the importing of foreign material, metal extractors are not as efficient as they were are previous Anti Rushya maps. Advanced extractors are a little more effecient, being able to drill deeper into the planet surface. The importing of water from another world has been mostly untested, and the results could be unpredictable. I wouldn't drink the water if I were you!! Anti Rushya Disguise is a large map designed for long multiplayer battles. It has eight large forts, large metal hills between forts and a lake in the middle. Due to the size of the map, the hills and the lake, early rushes are minimized. Starting positions are from top left, clockwise, 1, 5, 3, 8, 2, 6, 4, 7. If you want to team top against bottom, you would use fixed positions and team 1, 3, 5 against 2, 4, 6. You could do the same thing left to right by teaming 1, 4, 7 against 2, 3, 8, but the player setting up the game would have to block postions 5 and 6. If you like a long hard skimish game against the computer try this. Set positions to fixed. Difficulty to hard Select 8 total players including yourself Ally with the top Computers ( #3, #5 ) ( You should be #1, top left ) Ally all other computers as a team ( #2, #4, #6, #7, #8 ) Give all computers 10,000 energy and 10,000 metal Give yourself 1,000 energy and 1,000 metal. ( By the time you get built, the computers will be ready ) One last thing: Don't use nukes ( The computer won't ) Be prepared for a long battle and be prepared to help your allies. Your computer ally, top right will likely get hit pretty hard. If you lose an ally, you will be hit by the computers that were attacking that base. Multiplayer games are better suited for teams or free for all battles of 4 or more players. With the size of the map, a 1 on 1 will work, but be will take a great deal of time as it is easy to build several bases in the remaining forts. I didn't include starting positions for 9 and 10, as they would have to be placed in the middle of the map, and there would be little chance of defending attacks from all sides.
