Anti Rushya Hills Onslaught Author name: Kewlgrandpa (Ralph Hamp) a.k.a. - Suwannee, a.k.a - Deranged Email: rmhceh@worldshare.net kewlgrandpa@netzero.net Map name: Anti Rushya Hills Onslaught Map type: Metal - Lava, but basically a metal map Map size: 24 x 24 Number of Players: 2 to 10 Memory required: 32 MB Uncompressed Size: 2.80 Compressed Size: 2.80 Tools used: Annihilator 1.5; Paint Shop Pro 6.01; HPI View, HPI Pack If you downloaded a previous version of Anti Rushya Hills, there was a possiblity that the Queller Ai shipped with it, could run on other maps not not using this profile. Quitch(y) has corrected error and the Ai file is now shipped as an HPI instead of UFO. Please delete any previous version of the map and the Ai file. The previous Ai file would be "AntiRushyaAi.ufo" The corrected file is "AntiRushyaAi.hpi" I appologize for any problems this may have caused. Credit: A special thanks to Quitch(y) for his Queller Ai and for all of the time and help he has given me on this Ai and map. He has been very patient while I learned about Ai's and how to use them. Thanks Quitch(y)!! Visit Ai Central web site at: http://www.planetannihilation.com/taec/queller/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special Note from Quitch(y)'s readme file: About the AI Included with the map Anti Rushya Hills Onslaught is a modified version of the Queller CC Metal profile. The AI does not cheat, however it has modifed some units to improve the way in which the AI uses them. Among them are AI Nukes. Most important is the fact that the AI uses 4 weapon IDs, 191, 231, 232 and 233. If you use a 3rd party unit that wants to use one of these Weapon IDs then I recommend that you download Conflict Crusher from http://www.r1ch.net/games/ta/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: This map is shipped with a version of Queller Ai by Quitch(y) that I have tweaked for this map. There is a ufo map file and an hpi Ai file contained in the zip file. BOTH FILES MUST BE INSTALLED in "cavedog\totala" folder for the map and Ai to work. I have also included the totala.ini file if you don't have it installed. This file will increase unit count to 500. Install in cavedog\totala folder also. (If you don't already have it) For a challenging game, use the following settings: Difficulty to..hard Unmapped True line of sight Set starting metal and energy for players and Ai at 1000 (The Queller Ai is designed to work at this level) Unit limit 500 Anti Rushya Hills Onslaught contains the following changes. The bottom of double hills have been redrawn to extend to to where elevation ends. Double hills have been moved all the way into the corners and against the walls to prevent the Ai from building behind them and getting built in. New features have been added and the double hills have been featured to prevent the commander from building vehicle or kbot plants on them in the early part of the game, thus creating an weak base in the beginning. The metal output has been slightly increased. I have also included a Queller Ai by Quitch(y) that I have tweaked for his map and is shipped as a separate file. (AntiRushyaAi.hpi) This file must be installed in your cavedog\totala folder in order to work. Anti Rushya Hills Onslaught is a metal map but with a different look. Being a metal map it will produce metal anywhere you can build an extractor. I tried something a little different with this map in that I designed some duel level hills of two different sizes. To keep Cavedog's tiles and elevation, I used Paint Shop Pro to redesign the metal coast tile set for the lower level and then redesigned the normal metal hills for the second level. There are also smaller single level hills and the large hills from the lava tile set. Anti Rushya Hills Onslaught was designed as a free for all or team play, for both skirmish and multiplayer. The Ai builds very well on this map, (If you install Queller Ai) and will offer a decent challenge any way you want to play it. With the different size hills, this map offers many different strategies. The more hills you control, the more advantage you will have. Metal extractors produce 2.2, while advanced extractors produce 18.1. Wind is moderate and wind generators are an efficient option for cost. Gravity has been increased a little to hold down the distance of long range weapons. You will also find steamvents near each base. It has starting positions for up to 10 players as follows: Starting position: # 1 - top left #2 - bottom right #3 - top right #4 - bottom left #5 - top center #6 - bottom center #7 - left center #8 - right center #9 - top left center #10 - bottom right center
